Employment Verification

What It Reveals

This search shows where an applicant has been employed, what title he or she held, dates of employment, and may even include salary, the reason the person left, whether the company would rehire them, performance evaluations, social interaction, and any disciplinary actions.

Why is it Important?

This search allows the employer to verify that the applicant has the experience and skills needed to perform the job.  More importantly, this verification will highlight any gaps in employment.  Any unexplained gaps in employment may point to an undisclosed incarceration, thus leading a potential employer to check court records for that period in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Notes about this Information

Because of litigation concerns, past employers are sometimes reluctant to give recommendations.  Further, some previous employers have gone out of business or can’t be located.
